About the project

PSYCARE is an Erasmus+ KA202 project (2025–2027) dedicated to strengthening mental health awareness and resilience in the hair and beauty sector.

The hair and beauty setting is often a space where clients share personal stories. As a result, hair and beauty professionals are frequently exposed to emotionally demanding conversations, without having the training or tools needed to manage these situations or safeguard their own mental well-being.

PSYCARE develops practical, learner-centred training for VET students and professionals, enabling them to recognise signs of mental health challenges, communicate with empathy, set healthy boundaries, and guide clients towards appropriate support - without turning them into therapists. At the same time, the training focuses on self-care, compassion resilience, and wellbeing in the salon environment.

Through a combination of face-to-face training, digital learning resources, and long-term open access materials, PSYCARE aims to support both professionals and clients, bridging the gap between everyday interactions and mental health support within local communities.
